The Halal Greek Burger with aubergine crisps

Halal Lamb burger with home made tzatziki sauce, olives and aubergine chips!

Ingredients:

  • Halalnivore’s 5oz Lamb Kofta Burger
  • Pitta Bread - cut in half
  • Olives
  • Aubergine - Sliced thinly
  • Greek yoghurt
  • Olive oil
  • Garlic clove - Diced
  • Cucumber - seeded and cut into small squares
  • Mint
  • Paprika
  • Halloumi

How to cook -

Burger:
Turn on your skillet on high heat till smoking
Cook the Halal Lamb Kofta Burger on high heat for about 2 minutes and turn and cook other side for 2 minutes
Lower the heat to about half, and cook burger on each side for around 4 minutes until the juices run clear.

Halloumi:
Cut the Halloumi in chunky slices
Grill for around 3/4 minutes on each side until it is browned

Tzatziki sauce:
Add the greek yoghurt to a bowl and whip with until it is quite thick (1-2 mins)
Add the cucumber, garlic and olive oil and mix again
Lastly add the paprika and mix again
Cover and let cool in fridge for 2 hours for the flavours to mix

Aubergine chips:
Arrange the thinly cut sliced aubergine on a baking tray
Lightly coat with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper
Bake in oven for around 20 minutes on 180 degrees
Turn the slices over and bake for another 20 minutes
Once cooked, take out and let cool before serving.
